Strategy Partner at WISE Resource Development

Position Summary

WISE is committed to providing customized strategic support to nonprofits of all sizes. Clients range from $250,000 to $20 million in annual budget size. While WISE specializes in fundraising consulting, we also provide support in operations and program design. Strategy Partners provide tactical support in addition to strategic coaching and advice.

Strategy Partners receive significant training in WISE standards of practice, grant writing and fundraising and nonprofit management best practices. WISE also encourages ongoing professional development through Association of Fundraising Professional membership, industry trainings and certification attainment. Growth opportunities within the company are self-paced.

This is a full-time exempt salaried position reporting to the Senior Strategy Partner. Full-time at WISE is defined as 40 work hours/week. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by WISE to ensure that work product meets or exceeds standards and is consistent with the brand and reputation of the company

  • Perform a minimum of 30 billable hours per week

  • Work with clients to develop customized fundraising strategies

  • Follow WISE’s high performing project management best practices

  • Write grant proposals that follow WISE’s standards of practice

  • Manage efficient use of WISE and client resources

  • Consider ways to exceed expectations and bring value to clients, especially during their times of greatest need or stress

  • Manage deadlines effectively

  • Take initiative to recommend solutions to challenges – both internal and external facing

  • Provide clients with the resources and tools that they need to be successful, either directly or through referral

  • Interpret financial data to fill out applications, build budgets, develop sustainability statements, evaluate revenue trends and fundraising strategies, develop goals and determine return on investment or rate of return

  • Be an active and supportive member of the WISE team

  • Maintain confidentiality with WISE and client data and information

  • Research and identify potential funding sources

  • Stay current on nonprofit trends, best practices, funder interests, and other issues that may impact WISE and our clients

  • Stay up to date on research, statistics and other current events that impact the mission work of clients on a local and national scale

  • Actively represent and promote WISE within the nonprofit sector through in-person events and social media

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Skills Required

  • Ability to build relationships and respectfully influence individuals  

  • Attention to detail   

  • Excellent writing skills, grant or technical writing experience preferred

  • Ability to interpret financial reports and build budgets

  • Ability to communicate effectively with public speaking skills, actively listening, and open/respectful dialogue

  • Ability to use computers, Microsoft products and online tools effectively

  • Employ servant leadership skills and mindset both internally and externally

  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of information to determine connective themes and strategic solutions

  • Ability to develop SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timebound) goals

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years working in the nonprofit sector, preferably in a leadership position

  • Degree required and master’s degree preferred

  • A passion for and commitment to mission work

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
